singular art
A single colour canvas is surprisingly very interesting. It draws out the colour in the room - really draws your eye to it.

I can just imagine guests at the wall trying to find all the words in the find-a-word! It would be classic!!! LOVE IT! Come to think of it...I might just make one myself! Very personalised art indeed!!!!

food trees
I am using OMG too often - but here I go again... OMG I am all over this like a fat kid on a cupcake! These food trees are amazing! They are oh so cute, so simple and so easy to make - timber, dowel, glue and a bit of cutting and drilling - woila! Is that how you spell woila? I don't know and I don't care because I love this so much! You could even do it with little blocks of cheese and cabanossi! Or cheese and olive! There is so much you could do!
Put this on thre list of things for the new house!! I am thinking Daddy Piggy might be good at doing this... ;)
no...these are a few of my fav-our-ite things...
OMG I could not be loving this more than I am! I was about to pack up and go to bed and then I saw this and I got all excited!
I would love to make one for Mr Piggy and me for our new home! It would be so cool to list all the things that we really love and get a little canvas made up! Or we could print and frame it! I love the typewriter font - its so kitsche and cool!

just a stone throw away
I am loving the concrete pavers surrounded by stones. It has a real asian influence, looks so clean and modern and if laid right - no weeds to clean up! I would love to have stones done either side of the house, although the dogs would probably dig them up and eat them! Here are some pics from my travels...
I imagine that the lighter tiles would not get as hot in the sun... think about your feet!

snakes and ladders
I have a major crush on ladders. Talking to friends, it seems I am not alone. They are particularly in love with them in a library, running along the top of tall bookshelves..
They are so versatile. We are not all going to have that massive Beauty and the Beast style library, so there must be other ways ladders can be integrated...

(The ladder is a bit hidden, but I can't get over what a classy bunk bed this is!! A safety rail might be needed..)

Someone sure loves ladders!! I thought I was obsessed - apparently not so much!
And then there the ladders that wouldn't be able to be integrated into an average home, but you suddenly feel like you need to...

My life revolves around images I think. I am a very visual person. Thats why I got so excited when I found this picture of the chessboard pavers... I have been thinking about these since I started the blog! See the picture at the bottom for the original that sparked my inspiration!!

the cheapest new home-owner art of all
Isn't it great when you see something new and it opens your mind to more than just the ho-hum?
I almost feel over myself when I saw this pic. Could there we a cheaper form of art for a new home-owner? When you have all these colour tabs everywhere already, its very unlikely!
Were you not brave enough to run with that colour scheme you were thinking about? Just pop down to Bunnings, pick up a selection and pop it on your wall... oh to dream...

books as art
Enjoy your books!! How often do you really take those books off the shelf and have a flick through? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to share that with your guests?

How is it that monotone just works??? Its bordering on too-much but its looks so artsy and is so simple!! Cheap do-it-yourself alert!!!
