lil' piggy getting busy!!

I've been busy...but I'm back and building a house!! Not personally... theres builders for that...but the land is almost bought and theres a deposit on the house!

Mr Piggy and I are running with an Eden Brae home - the Oxford 23. Our dream is to own a fairly open plan home, with good entertaining areas, a good backyard and two living areas. This ticks our boxes and is very modern and so functional to boot! Its our taste and although not the one-of-a-kind home we have in our heads - its is definately something we can personalise! Its looks great with minimal furniture - which is our dream so we can get less furniture of a higher quality and put a bit of quirk into it!

This is it... (but it will be flipped to suit the land)

Allworth Homes

1 storey - 4 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - 2 carspaces

11.40m wide - 25.20m deep (22.910 with optional alfresco)
land width required 14.04m

This has a similar style to the Kenthurst from Clarendon, although this Allworth one has an extra room leisure, home theatre AND living.

Why am I more drawn to the other homes over this one? I think I am a sucker for good pics! The others had such preddy pics of the rooms all decorated... No, I must be strong!

Metricon

Ok, I am officially off in la-la land now because Metricon looks quite $pricey$ - but this blog isn't about realism. Its about inspiration and research and part of my research is looking at gorgeous houses! Whose to say that I won't see things in houses that are out of my price range that could be appropriated into a cheaper option, or which will inspire me further in other areas! To the nay-sayers I say :oP

All the pics are in flash - except for one pics for each home - so I can't publish the floor plan and other pics like I did last time :o(

I'll just put the links in so you can have a better look. Remember - there are several facades for each design!!

These homes are so delicious (if I am allowed to describe them that way)! They look warm and inviting, modern with some classic lines and they're not ho-hum! They're different! Not the cloned little homes that are out there at the moment!

There are also double storey homes offered by Metricon, but we are only interested in single storey presently.

The Clarendon 'Kenthurst'

I heart this house!

1 storey - 4 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - 2 carspaces

12.2m width - 19.7m depth

Fairly open plan and oh so preddy!

My facades in order of love love

1. Most love love - The Metro

2. Contemporary

 3. Boutique

4. Gallery

5. Traditional

Is it wrong of me to prefer every facade over the Traditional one? Does that mean I have expensive tastes? I have a feeling deep down that it does. I am a little scared to look at the actual pricing now... ill check out the rest of the website later...

Lets dream about the interior instead!!

I love love the timber floors, neutral colour scheme, the holes in the wall between the family room and the living room so the rooms aren't too divided, a kitchen that is open to the lounge and dining area. I know I have expensive dreams when I lust over the sliding glass doors that open onto the alfresco area. They are so preddy! Imagine having breakfast outside... I love how the doors open right up so the alresco area becomes a continuation of the house. All the rooms meld into one. Ahhhhh...
