clicked my heels and gone to lounge heaven

DREAM: Masculine, fabric, slightly retro sectional sofas with enough back to make it comfy, with little legs at the bottom! Love a big ottoman that you can push up against it for extra snuggling room!

FAVOURITE fabric and colour lounge - HANDS DOWN!!!!!

asian inspiration

So much time has passed... my apologies... So back into it!

I have been going through a lot of display homes - we are almost at the stage of making our all important home choices!! How exciting!

Along the way I have been picking up some asian inspiration. It is so beautiful. I love the simplicity of design.

OMG I am loving the interior doors with the frosted glass! I have also seen some amazing ones that slide. I like that it has a modern asian feel.

Was unfortunately a little low for me and not too comfortable  :(

Look lovely but the way that they are sewn, it leaves a lip hamging on the other side which would be a major dust catcher!! :(

hangin in the home

Have seen hap-hazard hanging of picture frames for good design, but I haven't thought about keeping to a horizontal mid-line and hanging the pctures around that. Would be a great leading line down a hallway.

Talking about hap-hazard... Frames for art - without art in between looks amazing! Especially when the frames are varying shades of the same color. They just belong... AND I am loving this seat!!

Oh Martha - you're right! Small frames do get lost on big walls!! ...using the space that you have...

very angular

I love how angular this room is. There are so many straight lines leading into one another. The room feels so masculine, yet functional and comfortable. It is really beautiful to look at. The use of light and shadow really adds to the feel of the room.

I am a big fan of black and white, as well as the tones of neutrals, but I love it when colour pops like the artwork in the doorway. It just looks like it belongs.

don't sit down too quickly!

I haven't put too much thought into lounges, but I am loving the look of this one. It seems to open up the room more than your average lounge. Maybe it is best suited to a fairly small room? I think I like it because it is different. It reminds me of the lounges queens in Egypt would recline on - the ones that had no backs. Its kinda like that, but modern and in a comfy way.

I want that room! I love the recessed book shelves in the walls. We have all this empty space inside the wall cavities - why not use a bit of it?! Its not like its an external wall anyway - so its not like you are trying to keep the heat in or keep the cold out, or whatever!
