The other love of my life (abeit a dead one)!

The Danish house's inspired craftsmen continue the tradition of Georg Jensen (1866-1935) - the silversmith and sculptor whose items became an instant success, sought after throughout the world.

Each item is so simple and seemingly fluid with nature, it can't help being beautiful beyond belief.

I am lucky enough to own the Spin tray/bowl (thank you to my gorgeous cousin and friend!). I can't wait to have our own home so I can give it pride of place!

The gentle curves of each item is breathtaking.. The tray (above) that looks like scrunched paper is so amazing. I haven't seen it before today...but I want one! And the Bloom handholders are so preddy in real life! I've seen them in the executive club at Sheraton On The Park, Sydney. The light bounces off the silver and they look stunning! The pieces are all quite heavy.

Ok, I just can't keep going on about house stuff when there are so many other beautiful things at Georg! My dream is to own the iconic Vivianna bangle watch with the mirror face dial.

It was designed and created by the female silversmith Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe. She was invited to take part in an exhibition Antagonism II – l’object in 1962 at the Musée des Arts Décoratif at the Louvre where she exhibited an organically swung open bangle with a mirror face devoid of numbers and only a seconds hand. Georg Jensen included this watch to the collection in a more user-friendly version with hour and minute hands incorporating the functionality of a watch and the beauty of a piece of jewellery.

I would love love to have an original with only the seconds hand - wearing watches makes me feel as though time has control of me, not the other way around. I feel that Vivianna was onto something...
